These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the BridgeWatch app and the bridgewatch.tassin.tech website (together, "BridgeWatch", "we", "us", or "our"). Please read them carefully. By downloading, installing, or using BridgeWatch, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use BridgeWatch.

What BridgeWatch Is

BridgeWatch is an independent, unofficial app that displays status information for the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway. It reads a publicly available status feed, classifies it automatically, and presents it to you at a glance, along with optional push notifications and a home screen widget. BridgeWatch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission, the Causeway Police, or any government agency.

Not Official, Not a Safety System: Always Verify

BridgeWatch is an informational convenience, not an official source and not a safety or emergency system. The information it shows can be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable, for reasons that include source data problems, classification errors, network issues, and delays outside our control. Never rely on BridgeWatch for safety-critical or time-critical decisions. Always confirm current conditions with official sources, and obey all posted signs, signals, and instructions from authorities, before and during travel.

Provided "As Is", No Warranty

BridgeWatch is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that BridgeWatch will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any error will be corrected.

Notifications May Be Delayed or Missed

Push notifications depend on services and conditions outside our control, including Apple and Google delivery systems, your device settings, network availability, and battery or power-saving modes. Notifications may be delayed, duplicated, or not delivered at all. Do not rely on receiving a notification, or on its timing, for any important decision.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, in no event will BridgeWatch or its developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of time, missed appointments, lost profits, or damages of any kind, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, BridgeWatch or the information it provides, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to BridgeWatch will not exceed the amount you paid for the app.

Third-Party Services

BridgeWatch relies on third-party services, including Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, and the website uses Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for the optional email waitlist. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, or for the public status feed that BridgeWatch reads. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Purchases and Refunds

BridgeWatch is a paid app. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and are subject to Apple's terms and policies, not ours. We do not receive or store your payment details. Any refund is handled by Apple under its standard refund process, and we are not able to issue refunds directly.

Changes to the Service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue BridgeWatch, in whole or in part, at any time and without notice. We are not liable to you or to anyone else for any change, suspension, or discontinuation of the app or the service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of BridgeWatch after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or to BridgeWatch will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Louisiana.
